This panel reflects a manual check on the date shown, not a live monitor. The button tests your own device's connectivity — from a browser it cannot see inside the casino's infrastructure, and nobody who claims otherwise can either.

Most of the time, Betway Casino is not down. Of the reports that reach us, the overwhelming majority turn out to be DNS, a browser extension, or a network-level filter on a home router — all of which look identical to an outage from where you are sitting.

The fastest way to tell the difference costs nothing: turn wi-fi off and load the site on mobile data. If it works, the problem is your network, and everything below is about fixing that. If it does not, keep reading anyway, because the error message narrows it down further.

What happens to your bet if it drops out

This is the question people actually arrive with, so it goes first. A spin is decided on the game server the instant you press the button. Your browser is displaying an animation of a result that already exists somewhere else. The connection dropping does not change the outcome.

Practically, that leaves two cases. If the round completed server-side, it stands, the balance is already adjusted, and the result is in your game history when you log back in. If the round never registered, the stake was never taken. There is no third case where the money vanishes into the gap.

Live dealer tables work the same way but with a wrinkle: the round runs on a timer regardless of who is watching. Lose your connection mid-hand and any decision you had not made is taken by the table's default rule. Check the game history rather than support — it is faster and it is the same information.

Pending withdrawals are unaffected. A payout already in the queue is server-side and keeps moving on the normal timetable even if the front end is unreachable. The withdrawal times page has the stages if you want to know where yours is sitting.

Diagnose it in 60 seconds

In order. Stop as soon as one of them works — that step is your answer.

1 Mobile data, wi-fi off

Ten seconds and it settles the biggest question. Loads on data but not wi-fi? Your router or ISP is filtering. Fails on both? Move to step two.

2 Private window, no extensions

Ad blockers, privacy extensions and script blockers break casino lobbies routinely. A private window disables most of them by default.

3 Turn the VPN off

A VPN exit node in the wrong country produces a hard geo block, and it looks exactly like the site being down. This is the single most common cause of a 403.

4 Change DNS, then flush it

Switch the device to a public resolver such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8, restart the browser and retry. Fixes a surprising share of "the site is down" reports outright.

5 Clear cookies for the domain

A stale session cookie causes endless redirect loops on login. Clear cookies for that site only, not your whole browser, and sign in again.

6 Try a second device

If a phone on the same network works and the laptop does not, it is the laptop. If neither works but mobile data does, it is the network. Now you know who to talk to.

Error codes and what they actually mean

403 Forbidden

The server got your request and refused it. Geo or IP restriction in almost every case, and a VPN is the usual trigger. Turn it off, reload, and it clears.

404 Not Found

That specific page is gone, but the site is fine. Usually an old bookmark to a promotion that has ended. Go to the homepage and navigate from there.

502 / 504 Gateway

A genuine server-side problem, and one of the few codes that really does mean the casino. Almost always brief. Wait ten minutes rather than retrying every thirty seconds.

503 Service Unavailable

Maintenance, usually planned and usually overnight NZ time. Nothing to fix at your end; come back later.

ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

DNS could not resolve the domain — the classic signature of an ISP or router-level block. Change DNS and it resolves immediately.

ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Nothing answered at all. Either your connection dropped or something is filtering the route. Mobile data test tells you which in ten seconds.

Outage log

Everything we have logged since this page went up, in New Zealand time. It is a running record rather than a monitoring feed — entries are added when we or a reader can confirm them. The pattern is worth noting on its own: short, and rarely in the evening.

Status questions

Is Betway Casino down right now?

The panel on this page shows the result of our last manual check and the date it was made. Most reports that reach us turn out to be local — DNS, a browser extension or a network filter — rather than a genuine outage.

What happens to my bet if the site goes down mid-spin?

A spin is settled on the game server, not in your browser. If the round completed server-side it stands and the result is in your history when you get back in. If it never completed, the stake is returned. Either way the outcome is already decided before your screen catches up.

Why does Betway Casino load on mobile data but not on my home wi-fi?

That is the signature of a DNS or router-level filter rather than an outage. Some New Zealand ISPs and most family-safety routers block gambling categories by default. Changing DNS or turning the filter off fixes it.

What does a 403 error mean on Betway Casino?

The server received your request and refused it. Usually a geo or IP restriction, and a VPN is the most common trigger. Turn the VPN off and reload before assuming anything is broken.

How long do Betway Casino outages usually last?

Genuine platform outages are typically minutes rather than hours, and scheduled maintenance is announced in advance. An unavailability lasting more than a day is almost always specific to your account or your network.

The site loads but the games will not start. What is wrong?

That points at the game supplier rather than the casino. One studio being down while everything else works is common. Try a game from a different provider — if that runs, the platform is fine.

Can I still withdraw while the site is having problems?

If the cashier loads, yes. A pending withdrawal is unaffected by a front-end problem; it is already queued server-side and will process on the usual timetable.

Where can I check for an outage myself?

Try the site on mobile data with wi-fi off. That single test separates a genuine outage from a local network problem faster than any status page, this one included.
